Jembo Cares for Nature: Planting 1,000 Pine Trees to Support Ecosystem Restoration in Bromo

As part of the company’s commitment to strengthening ESG (Environmental–Social–Governance) based sustainability practices, PT Jembo Cable Company Tbk carried out the planting of 1,000 pine trees in the foothill area of Mount Bromo, East Java, on Saturday, 1 November 2025.

This initiative reflects Jembo’s concrete action in contributing positively to environmental conservation through measurable and sustainable ecosystem restoration efforts. Tree planting is one of the company’s tangible strategies to support carbon emission reduction, enhance air quality, and preserve biodiversity within mountain conservation areas.

In its implementation, Jembo collaborated with representatives from the Tengger indigenous community as strategic partners in the planting process, long-term maintenance, and regular monitoring of tree growth. This collaborative approach is expected to reinforce program sustainability through the transfer of local knowledge, community empowerment, and continuous field supervision.

The Director of PT Jembo Cable Company Tbk stated that this initiative represents the company’s responsibility to deliver positive impact for both the environment and society.

“Environmental sustainability is not solely an internal company commitment — it requires collective action. Through this tree planting program, Jembo strengthens its role in delivering added value that brings ecological, social, and long-term intergenerational benefits.”

Pine trees were selected due to their strong adaptability to mountain climate conditions, as well as their significant contribution to carbon sequestration, soil protection, and slope stability. The presence of these 1,000 pine trees is expected to provide long-term environmental benefits to the Bromo area — one of Indonesia’s important conservation ecosystems and national natural tourism icons.

Through this program, PT Jembo Cable Company Tbk reiterates that industrial growth and environmental stewardship can advance in harmony. This initiative is also part of the company’s agenda to continuously strengthen ESG implementation — consistently, relevantly, and sustainably — for a greener and more responsible future for Indonesia’s cable industry.
