PT Jembo Cable Company Tbk is established in April 1973, began with the production of Low Voltage electric cables with copper conductors. The company then continued to expand its product range to Low Voltage cables with aluminum conductors, Medium Voltage cables, Telephone cables, and Fiber Optic cables, while also broadening its market reach to support the needs of sectors such as residential, construction, infrastructure, industry, oil and gas, mining, marine, and FPO, as well as airport lighting. The cables produced have been certified by leading certification institutions and also hold certifications related to Local Content Level (TKDN).
In 1992, Company listed its shares on the Jakarta Stock Exchange, now known as the Indonesia Stock Exchange, and conducted a technical cooperation agreement with Fujikura Ltd., one of the leading cable companies from Japan.
PT Jembo Cable Company Tbk continues to innovate to meet customer needs. As a historical record, PT Jembo Cable Company Tbk was a pioneer in fiber optic cable production in Indonesia, with its first production in 1993, and metal corrugated armored cables in 1995 —this certain cable specifically designed for companies in the oil and gas mining sector. Today, metal corrugated cables are used by major international mining companies such as PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia (now PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan), PT Freeport Indonesia, ConocoPhillips (now PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk.), and others.
